Tonight, I wanted a simple supper, so I made some homemade Sloppy Joe’s and some homemade Air Fryer French Fries. I started with 2 pounds of Ground Beef and boiled it, then drained, and put in a skillet. Then I added some salt and pepper, about 6 ounces of Chili Sauce, about the same of BBQ Sauce, and some Ketchup – until it is to the consistency that I want. My granddaughter, Leana, helped me prepare the meal.
Now, for the French Fries – I started by washing and slicing the potatoes, then soak them in cold water for 30 – 60 minutes – to get some of the starch removed. Then we put the sliced potatoes on some paper towels and patted them dry.
Then we put the potatoes in a pan with about 1 Tbls of Olive Oil, some Salt, Pepper, and some Seasoning Salt – and tossed until coated well. Then we cooked them in the Air Fryer at 380 degrees for 20 minutes – then transferred to a bowl.
Then, we got to assemble the sandwich, and enjoy it. I put some American Cheese on the bun, then scooped on some of the Sloppy Joe mix, and put some French Fries on the plate – and it was a very good – yet simple supper.
